Laser Communications Event
It’s an evening convening rockstars of the engineering & math mentality, tech & space fascination, and happy hour humor.
Rarely do we get the chance to chat with the director of a major laser communications program. Some might say it’s rarer than a total solar eclipse. But lucky for us, BlueHalo’s own John Garnham is coming out for an open discussion on where tech is heading for the world and in the great universe beyond.
He’ll give an informal talk on the motivations for laser communication, top-level system architecture, the major technical challenges, the current state of the industry’s “state-of-the-art,” and what his team’s doing to propel it all forward.
If you’ve ever been curious about why lasercom is becoming increasingly relevant for a broader set of defense and commercial interests, or you personally want to take on a bigger role in solving the technical hurdles for various applications, this is the right time and the right team to get to know.
After the talk, we’ll go straight into our signature style Hacker Happy Hour where we stop the recording, open the floor, and take the conversation wherever the crowd wants. (Don’t be surprised if Star Wars comes up as we’ve got a lot of fans of the Force among us…)
As always at Halo U, this event is virtual, free and open to everyone. The content is geared toward scientists and engineers, and those in the space industry community, but don’t be shy if you’re simply looking for some fun and fascination with a bunch of like-minded techies.
