Applied Technology Associates (ATA) Awarded Contract in Support of Hosted Payload Interface Unit (HPIU) Program

Applied Technology Associates (ATA) announced a contract award from L3Harris Technologies to support the U.S. Air Force for the secure transfer of data between Hosted Payloads and a Satellite Host under the Hosted Payload Interface Unit (HPIU) Program.

The objective of the program is to develop a HPIU that can be demonstrated on orbit in an operational setting. The spacecraft hardware will provide data, power, and crypto interfaces used in a variety of future hosting opportunities, in order to optimize hardware flexibility while maximizing standard spacecraft compatibility.

The U.S. Air Force made the award to L3Harris Technologies through the Space
Enterprise Consortium (SpEC), managed by Advanced Technology International (ATI). Dan Gillings, ATA’s President said, “We look forward to our partnership with L3Harris Technologies and the U.S. Air Force on this very important Program.” ATA is an award-winning, small business providing high performance, state-of-the-art solutions, technical services; and assembly, integration, and test capabilities for ground, air, and space applications.
