Certainty over Speculation: Protecting Civilians and Infrastructure from the Evolving Drone Threat

Recent sightings of drones in New York and New Jersey confirms the urgent homeland security priority to detect, track, identify, and defeat various types of Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) threats to protect our citizens, vital infrastructure and valuable assets. On December 16, DHS, FBI, FAA and DoD released the following joint statement: “We urge Congress to enact counter-UAS legislation when it reconvenes that would extend and expand existing counter-drone authorities to identify and mitigate any threat that may emerge.”

We agree that there is a critical need to pass legislation to empower local authorities – through the DHS – to deploy UAS countermeasures for comprehensive protection against unmanned aerial threats to maintain the safety and security of critical infrastructure – including airports, power stations, military installations and surrounding communities.

BlueHalo is a U.S.-based manufacturer of warfighter-trusted C-UAS solutions, like our Titan and Titan-SV technologies with RF detect and defeat capabilities, VigilantHalo integrated airspace command and control system, and LOCUST TATS advanced gimbaled electro-optical tracking system. BlueHalo’s multi-layered drone defense systems have been used by Department of Defense Programs of Record across CONUS and OCONUS operations with hundreds of deployments, and Titan is a FAA-concurred operational system for GPS denial mitigation.

We have deployed more than 1,000 C-UAS systems globally, and have supported critical domestic priorities, including major sporting events. Our U.S.-made and manufactured systems are actively deployed, protecting troops and infrastructure for our U.S., allied and coalition forces.

These technologies are ready to be deployed and available immediately to support ongoing and future national security needs–at home and abroad.
