BlueHalo Awarded 2024 HIRE Vets Gold Medallion

The U.S. Department of Labor recognized BlueHalo with the 2024 HIRE Vets Gold Medallion Award for exemplary efforts in recruiting, employing, and retaining our nation’s veterans. This award is the only federal-level veterans’ employment award that recognizes a company or organization’s commitment to veteran hiring, retention, and professional development.

The HIRE Vets Award is the fifth honor BlueHalo has received this year for work supporting military veterans, including the Large Company of the Year Award and the Patriot Award from the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), the Vet Indexes 4-Star Employer Award, and military.com’s Veteran Hiring Pledge medallion.

Danny Noles, CAPT, USN (RET) and Deputy General Manager of BlueHalo Labs accepts the Company of the Year Award and the Patriot Award from the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). August 2024

“Veterans are the backbone of our company and an integral part of our culture,” said Elizabeth Mashakas, Senior Vice President of Talent Acquisition at BlueHalo. “We are honored to receive this prestigious award and pledge to continue to do all we can to help veterans with a smooth transition to civilian life where they can continue to serve the mission. BlueHalo values the perspective and expertise that veterans bring to our workforce as, together, we deliver the next-generation defense technologies that are keeping our warfighters safe.”

BlueHalo has established several key veteran and military focused hiring and retention programs:

The BlueHalo Veteran & Military Hiring Program allows veterans to continue their mission by providing meaningful job opportunities in fields closely aligned with their military background and military occupational specialties (MOS).

BlueHalo participates in the DOD’s SkillBridge program to provide real-world training and work experience for service members who have 180 days or fewer of service remaining.

BlueHalo hosts the Welcome Vets program to help all veterans with the transition into the civilian workforce with resume, career building, and interviews workshops.

New BlueHalo veteran employees are encouraged to attend transition classes taught by our own veteran employees and are offered one-on-one mentoring opportunities and career mapping.

The Employee Resource Group, HaloVets, provides a strong veteran community for BlueHalo employees and their families looking to continue to give back to veteran’s organizations and causes.
